TIPS FOR SAFE TRAVEL
The coronavirus has changed the way we live and interact. Here are suggestions help keep everyone healthy and
safe while traveling:
Prepare food and drinks for the road and make as few stops as possible.
Pack sufficient amounts of hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol) and keep it readily available.
Keep at least 6 feet of physical space from other people.
Upon arrival, the CDC recommends clean and disinfect all high touch surfaces.
Keep fans on and allow the property to air out when reasonably possible upon arrival.
DON’T travel if you are sick. This is what travel insurance is for!
What to Bring
Pawleys Island, like many other communities, is facing an inconsistent chain of supplies in stores. Upon arrival,
each bathroom will be equipped with a starter roll of toilet paper, a bar of soap, and trash can liner. We suggest
bringing additional paper products, personal protective equipment, personal cleaning products, and disinfectants,
and other essentials as they may not be available locally. Also, be sure to travel with any medicine needed for
the duration of your stay.
Housekeeping Information
In addition to normal cleaning protocols, all contracted housekeeping companies have been provided the CDC
guidelines to prepare your rental for arrival. This includes disinfecting high touch areas - doorknobs, light
switches, remote controls, HVAC control panels, all hard surfaces, and fixtures. Also, rest assured that linens
and towels are sanitized in a commercial laundry facility. Upon request, we will even leave shrink wrapped linens
out, rather than making the beds made prior to your arrival. Mid-stay cleans are being offered for a special price
to suit any of your special needs.
Check-In Process
Our office is fully staffed with the same people you have grown to know through the years. We are conducting
curbside check-ins! You will receive a text when the property is ready and we will meet you at the door with
check-in materials. We know this is an unconventional time, so please be patient as we are all taking extra time
and care to get things ready for your arrival.
TRIP INSURANCE COVERAGE - UPDATE QUOTE FROM CSA
"We are providing coverage if a traveler, family member or traveling companion contract COVID-19. The
sickness would need to occur during the coverage period, and an in-person diagnosis and signed physician’s
statement are required for travelers to receive coverage. This insurance coverage is provided in addition
to the 24/7 emergency assistance services included in our plans.
The safety measures taken by the travel community and world at large should help prevent travelers from
getting sick—and will hopefully help travelers feel more comfortable and able to enjoy their vacations.
Something else that can help travelers relax is knowing they have an additional safeguard in place should
they confront a case of COVID-19 or learn that a family member has contracted the virus.
Generali coverage for COVID-19 sickness can include:
Pre-paid Travel Arrangements Insured travelers have coverage if they need to cancel or interrupt their
plans if they get sick with COVID-19 or if a traveling companion or family member gets sick with COVID-19.
Medical Expenses and Evacuation Travelers who get sick on their trip and need to seek treatment or
medical evacuation have coverage for medical expenses for up to one year, even after they return
home—including copays, deductibles and out-of-network costs billed by primary health insurance.
Out-of-pocket Costs Additional airfare to return home when a trip is interrupted, and other unexpected
costs, like overnight lodging and meals during delays, can be covered if a traveler or family member gets
sick with the virus.
Our mission is to provide assistance and relief in the most difficult of circumstances. We encourage
travelers to review their Description of Coverage/Policy for the specific coverages included in their
plan. For additional information about coverage for COVID-19 sickness, please see our Coronavirus
FAQ page.
